Gouvy - a project for the future - wind farm and storage

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project developed by WattElse will consist of 9 wind turbines which will have a power of between 4.8 and 6.5 MW and which will measure a maximum of 210m. In order to manage the intermittency of wind technology, storage solutions for the electricity produced will also be studied in this project.

                                                KEY NUMBERS

INHABITANTS OF THE COMMUNITY

8500

The commune of Gouvy has just under 8,500 inhabitants. Following an energy audit, the municipality has for several years been developing improvement projects relating, among other things, to the energy performance of its public buildings: installation of photovoltaic panels, replacement of frames, roof insulation, replacement of boilers, etc.

WIND PROJECT AND STORAGE

9 wind turbines from 4.5 to 6.5 MW

Each wind turbine has a total height ranging from 180m to 210m and the rotor has a diameter of approximately 120 to 155m.

The power of each wind turbine is between 4.2 and 6MW for a total maximum power of 54 MW.

CO2 PRODUCTION, ELECTRICITY SUPPLY

150 GWh per year

The estimated maximum production of the 9 wind turbines is 150 GWh per year, which is equivalent to an average annual consumption of 45,000 Walloon households (based on a consumption of 3,500 kWh/year).

These 9 wind turbines will also prevent the emission of nearly 48,000 tonnes of CO² per year (CWaPE data compared to a reference gas-steam turbine power plant), which represents the equivalent of the emissions of nearly 35,000 cars.

THE INVESTORS
